Child Dependent Visa

The UK generally only grants dependant visas to children when both parents are in the UK, either settled or on a qualifying visa. Otherwise, you will need to prove that you have sole responsibility for your child. Your child must be under the age of 18 on the date you apply and must not be living an independent life. There is also often a maintenance requirement.

The requirements are that the child is:

• Under 18 on the day of application.

• Unmarried and do not have an independent family unit.

• Not living an independent life

• Meet the financial requirement

• In contact with the parents and that they have a relationship (Sometimes evidence of Sole Responsibility may apply.

We have helped many people who at first did not meet the requirements of the rules, however, after deep consideration other factors, such as compelling and compassionate grounds did apply and those applications were successful.

Every case is a different case. If you wish to apply for a visa for your child and you do not think you meet the requirements, call us and we will give you an honest opinion of the reasons why your application can or cannot succeed.
